LMCBO

LMCBO is a forum for chief building officials from Ontario municipalities with populations over 50,000.  The group meets twice annually to share knowledge and experience and to cultivate a co-operative culture among its members. Access the LMCBO Charter by clicking here.

The Large Municipalities Chief Building Officials group (LMCBO) has participated in building regulatory reform since its inception in 1990.  LMCBO has proven a very useful forum for addressing the regulatory issues confronting large municipalities and an invaluable networking opportunity promoting high performance and uniformity across the Province.

The group has made various submissions to government on issues such as:

  • cost recovery permit fees (1992),
  • position paper on building regulatory reform (1995),
  • administrative issues group on the Building Code Act (1996),

  • the Tenant Protection Act (1997),
  • Red Tape Commission consultations on one-window construction approvals (1998),
  • the BRRAG consultations (2000), and
  • Bill 124.
